As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office. You will support providers and patients through various patient care management, organization, and communication tasks. You will be responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating daily administrative tasks, preparing treatment rooms for examinations, and directly assisting our practitioners. This is a Full-Time In-Person position for our Flagstaff, AZ location.

Follow all procedures and protocols as per Phoenix Mental Health and Wellness, Refresh Mental Health, and Optum, in addition to all federal and state regulations and standard practices.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, work experience, and licensure/certifications.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Medical Office Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming phone calls, team messages, emails, and return calls when indicated.
  • Return missed calls, team messages, and emails promptly (within 24 hours of receipt or sooner if clinically necessary)
  • Directly interact with patients.
  • Collaborate with assigned providers.
  • Schedule and manage appointments
  • Perform data entry
  • Measure and record vital signs
  • Clean exam rooms
  • Document basic medical history and other pertinent information
  • Verify patient’s insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Update and file medical records
  • Distribute/retrieve correspondence letters, consents, release of information, etc.
  • Collect patient payments and balances

Other Skills Required:

  • Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals involved in all aspects of patient care – children, parents, school faculty and staff, pharmacies, partner agencies, members of the community, external third-party facilities, etc.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail
  • Serves as a representative of PMHW, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Teams and Office
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general and professional documents
